Current Releases
We released five new wines for Spring 2016: 2015 Rosé of Pinot Noir (Cartograph Circle exclusive), 2015 Starscape Vineyard Gewürztraminer, 2014 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, 2014 Mendocino Ridge Pinot Noir, and the 2014 Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir.
There are two wines on the list that are new for us — the 2014 Mendocino Ridge Pinot Noir and the 2014 Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir. Because 2014 was a vintage that yielded higher-than-expected amounts of fruit, we thought it would be interesting to create a blend that came from both Perli and Mariah vineyards — thus, our first release of a Mendocino Ridge blend. Bucher is one of the first vineyards on Westside Road to pick, it’s farmed by a dairy farmer who also makes wine. We think that’s reflected in the terroir: Even as a young wine, Bucher has a savory, meaty quality, a little bit of the funk that might show up in other RRV wines as they age.
You'll definitely smell the classic honeysuckle and orange blossom you'd expect from a fine Gewürztraminer, but you also get a couple of surprises. 145 cases produced. Released spring 2016.
We think this year's Riesling from Greenwood will be a classic. 154 cases produced. Released in fall 2015.
Classic aromas of Bing cherry, pepper, cedar, tobacco, and wild strawberry. On the palate it is soft and silky with plenty of acidity. Released in spring 2016. 245 cases produced.
Earthy and fruity with silky tannins. It's our first Mendocino Ridge blend. Released spring 2016. 93 cases produced.
Earthy notes on the nose with black peppercorn, blackberry and a spiced scent of fresh-cut wood. On the palate you have cranberry and a combination of flavors that brings to mind a fresh cherry pie. A bright, lingering finish reveals some funky undertones. Released spring 2016. 117 cases produced
